Hindustan Salts Limited (HSL) is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) fully owned by the Government of India, established in 1958. It was created to manage salt sources previously under the control of the Salt Department. HSL is involved in the production of various types of salt, including common salt, rock salt, and the recovery of chemicals from bitterns. It also has a subsidiary, Sambhar Salt Limited, which manages the salt production at Sambhar Lake.
